DXN (ASX:DXN) has signed its first data centre as a service agreement with a US-based global provider of satellite earth stations.
Under the deal, DXN will design, build, deploy, and manage prefabricated modular data centre infrastructure at an initial site in the Northern Territory.
The five-year contract includes an upfront payment of approximately $600,000, with the total contract value estimated at $3.6 million.
The agreement also includes ongoing maintenance and management services, with an option to renew for an additional five years.
Design work is already underway for the first site, targeted for deployment by August.
The US-based client has also indicated the potential for DXN to be engaged across multiple sites in regional Australia, offering additional revenue opportunities.
DXN Managing Director Shalini Lagrutta stated, "This contract exemplifies how DXN can add value to our global customer base in Australia by not just building and handing over these infrastructure projects, but also by maintaining and managing them on an ongoing basis."
She added that the rise of AI in space technology is driving demand for scalable, automated infrastructure and that DXN's edge modular data centres are well-positioned to meet these evolving needs.
At the time of reporting, DXN's share price was $0.036.
