Charter Hall Long WALE REIT reported a statutory loss of $258.4 million for the half year ended Dec. 31, 2023, compared to the previous year's $141 million profit.

The downturn was attributed to unrealised, non-cash items, including net fair value movements on investment properties and losses on derivative financial instruments.

Operating earnings saw a smaller dip at $94 million, resulting in a distribution of $94 million or 13 cents per stapled security.

Revenue from ordinary activities went down 1.5% to $110.9 million.
