Charger Metals has commenced reverse circulation drilling at its Lake Johnston Lithium Project in Western Australia.

The drill program, funded by Rio Tinto Exploration under a farm-in agreement, will cover up to 5,000m to test priority lithium targets at the Medcalf and Mt Gordon prospects.

"The priority drill targets are in and around the Medcalf Prospect, where we have previously confirmed a high-grade spodumene system," said Aidan Platel, managing director of Charger Metals.

The program at Medcalf will aim to identify potential strike extensions of high-grade lithium mineralisation in spodumene-bearing pegmatites, which have yielded rock chip results of up to 4.2% Li2O.
