The groundbreaking first cross-border digital dirham transaction has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in the world of digital finance.

Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Central Bank of the UAE, used the Mbridge platform—a central bank digital currency (CBDC) liquidity and connectivity solution—to execute this historic payment.

This revolutionary move saw 50 million dirhams, equivalent to approximately $13.6 million, being seamlessly transferred to China.

The accomplishment leverages the advanced Mbridge platform, setting a notable precedent in the utilisation of digital currencies for substantial, international financial transactions.
