Cettire faced tax inquiries from Texas authorities, prompted by an anonymous blogger's questions on its registration status.

Cettire's authorisation in Texas was quietly reinstated this week after being notified of approximately $10,000 in unpaid taxes in February.

The company paid the amount in full on March 21. Despite this, Cettire maintains it has been collecting and remitting sales taxes as usual.

Although the company refuted claims of nonpayment of sales tax, competitors like Italist warn of industry-wide tax issues. Since 2017, all operators, regardless of physical presence, are liable for sales tax.
