The Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute (CCRI) has published a report detailing Cardano's (CRYPTO:ADA) environmental metrics, crucial for compliance with MiCA regulations.

Cardano's Ouroboros Proof of Stake (PoS) architecture consumes significantly less energy compared to PoW networks like Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), with an annual energy usage of 704.91 MWh and carbon emissions totaling 250.73 tons of CO2 equivalent.

The report highlights challenges such as electronic waste generation (8.26 tons annually, with 51.93% unrecycled), emphasising the need for improved hardware waste management strategies.

These findings establish Cardano as a pioneer in meeting MiCA sustainability standards, offering transparency in blockchain technology's environmental impact.
