Blackrock, the world’s largest asset manager, has recently held its fourth meeting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to discuss its application for a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

The news comes as SEC Chairman Gary Gensler says the securities regulator is “taking a new look” at applications for spot bitcoin ETFs.

The discussions represent a significant step forward for the adoption of such cryptocurrency-based financial products.
