    Blackrock considers spot Bitcoin ETF application in four meetings with SEC

    Blackrock, the world’s largest asset manager, has recently held its fourth meeting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to discuss its application for a spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

    The news comes as SEC Chairman Gary Gensler says the securities regulator is “taking a new look” at applications for spot bitcoin ETFs.

    The discussions represent a significant step forward for the adoption of such cryptocurrency-based financial products.
