    BKI Investment Company (ASX:BKI) HY23 results

    BKI Investment Company (ASX:BKI) has announced a higher half year Operating Result before tax and excluding special dividends of $35.1 million, an increase of 13% and Net Operating Profit After Tax, including special investment revenue of $36.8 million, a decrease of 34%.

    The company has declared an interim ordinary dividend of 3.70 cents per share and an interim special dividend of 0.50 cents per share, both fully franked at the tax rate of 30%.

    Total dividends paid for the half year of 4.20cps is up 5%.

    BKI has invested $34m in the first half of FY2023, adding to positions in Ampol, Equity Trustees, Orora Limited, ARB Corporation and Harvey Norman, and added 3 new names to the portfolio, including Yancoal Australia, Nine Entertainment and James Hardie.

    BKI Investment Company Limited is an internally managed investment company that invests in a diversified portfolio of quality Australian equities.

    For the year to 31 December 2022, BKI’s Total Shareholder Return was positive 15.4%, significantly outperforming the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index, franked at 80% which returned 0.2%.

    This result was driven by higher ordinary dividends received from most positions within the portfolio, including New Hope Corporation, Suncorp Group, Woodside.

    Following the announcement, shares of BKI Investment Company were up 0.83%.
