BHP (ASX:BHP) plans to reduce its operational emissions by at least 30% by FY30 from FY20 levels and is striving to achieve net-zero operational emissions by 2050.
The company said the effort requires technology advancements, collaborations with vendors and industry, and the integration of decarbonisation into all aspects of the business.
BHP also said it's working on technical solutions to meet the growing demand for power and is exploring ways to reduce diesel usage in its operations.
The company's share price is up 4.35% in early trading.
