Bank of Japan's rate decision sends yen to multi-decade low against USD

Article Image

The Japanese yen hit multi-decade low at around 156 against the US dollar after the Bank of Japan announcement.

The yen's decline follows Bank of Japan's unchanged policy decision and lowered growth forecast for 2024.

The decision follows a rate hike in March, marking the end of Japan's era of negative interest rates since 2016.

USD sees support from hawkish Fed outlook and interest rate differentials.
