Bain Capital is reportedly on the verge of acquiring Envestnet (NYSE:ENV), a leading provider of financial software in the United States.

According to sources familiar with the discussions, the deal could be announced as early as this week, with the transaction valuing Envestnet at approximately its current market value of around $3.5 billion.

Envestnet's shares are currently trading at about $63, and the acquisition is expected to align closely with this valuation.

The sources, who chose to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the negotiations, indicated that both parties are nearing the final stages of discussion.

Envestnet is known for offering technology tools that assist financial advisers and wealth managers.

It boasts a client base that includes over 108,000 advisers, 16 of the top 20 U.S. banks, and numerous leading wealth management and brokerage firms.
