Australian unemployment rate increased by 0.1% to 3.9% in November, with employment rising by 61,000 and unemployment up by 19,000, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The employment-to-population ratio reached a record high of 64.6%, and the participation rate hit a new high of 67.2%.
While employment growth has kept pace with high population growth, monthly hours worked rose less than 0.1%, indicating a slowdown in the labour market.
The underemployment rate also rose by 0.2% to 6.5%, while the underutilisation rate increased to 10.4%.
In trend terms, the unemployment rate remained at 3.8%, but other indicators suggest a potential slowdown in the labour market.
