Australian coal stocks surge on Europe gas shutdown

Australian coal stocks are surging following the shutdown of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline shutdown, which is deepening Europe?s energy crisis.

Whitehaven Coal (ASX:WHC) has surged more than 7% at the open.

Yancoal (ASX:YAL) is up almost 6%.

New Hope (ASX:NHC) is up 6%
