Australia's Future Fund names Greg Combet as chairman

Greg Combet has been announced as the new chairman of Australia's $212 billion Future Fund, succeeding Peter Costello.

Treasurer Jim Chalmers plans to discuss its investment direction with Combet.

Chalmers aims to ensure the Future Fund remains a crucial economic and financial institution, highlighting the need for fresh thinking and leadership.

Combet currently chairs the Net Zero Economy Agency. His five-year term begins mid-year.
