The Australian market recovered the morning losses to close flat on Friday boosted by strong gains for consumer discretionary stocks. Afterpay took a slight hit today after the Reserve Bank of Australia shared its conclusions paper from the Review of the Retail Payments Regulation. Aussie Broadband shares rallied after the telecommunications carrier confirmed it is in preliminary talks to acquire Over The Wire. Andrew Forrest has purchased Gaia Retreat and Spa in the Byron Bay hinterland from a group of co-founders Olivia Newton-John.
