Atomo Diagnostics heralded a major stride in HIV prevention and testing in Australia with the government's pledge to expand HIV self-testing in the latest Federal Budget.
The $43.9 million allocation aims to bolster prevention, testing, training, and information for those at risk of HIV, aligning to eliminate HIV transmission by 2030.
Under the initiative, free HIV self-test kits will be more accessible through a nationwide mail-out program.
The budget will extend the South Australia-based HIV testing vending machine pilot to a national scale, ensuring testing availability across all regions.
