The Australian market closed at a new 100-day high for the midweek session, ending the day 0.66% higher at 7023.1 as a gold miner rally fuelled the key index.
The tech sector closed the day more than 2% higher driven by Iress and Wisetech Global surging more than 3% each.
Bitcoin is soaring to new records this afternoon, currently trading at US$64,351.57 at 4:30pm AEST, up more than 5.8% in the last 24-hours.
Australian-based alternative financial services platform Propell Holdings soared 40% to 28c after debuting on the ASX this morning with an IPO of 20c/share and market capitalisation of $19.2m. The company plans to use the $6m raised on IPO to pursue its growth strategy.
Making headlines, Australian healthcare information company Alcidion entered a trading halt this morning to remain in place until Friday?s market open as it sealed a deal to buy UK-based software business ExtraMed for $10m. The trading halt was requested as Alcidion hunt for $17.5m to restock its cash reserves.
And Google?s latest Digital Wellbeing feature is rolling out across Android devices to save the embarrassment of walking into objects while looking at your phone. The new feature tells users to ?look up? if they pull out their phone while walking.
