    The Australian market snapped a five-day green streak after closing Friday?s session 3.6 points lower at 6995.2 as consumer staples weighed on the key index.

    The tech sector closed the day higher, boosted by notable gains for Nextdc, Xero, Afterpay and Technology One.

    Bitcoin continues to trade around US$58,000 at 4pm AEST, up 2% in the last 24-hours.

    Tesla has issued a recall for 2508 examples of its Model S and Model X SUV sold in Australia between 2014 and 2018 as a fault with the onboard computer systems has the potential to ?increase the risk of an accident?.

    Making headlines, Australian-based biotech company Csl took a hit on the markets today as investors processed the Australian governments? latest update of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine not being suitable for anyone under 50 years old. Csl is contracted to produce the AstraZeneca vaccine in Australia.

    And Vodafone has experienced a nationwide outage for most of the day with customers unable to make calls or access the internet.
