Diana Mondino, Argentina's minister of foreign affairs, international trade and worship, has said a government decree legalising selected currencies for contracts and payments would include bitcoin.

Appearing not to be specifically targeting crypto, the decree is part of economic reforms and provides for payments in currencies not recognised as legal tender in Argentina.

Mondino confirmed contracts in the South American country could be settled in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
