AML3D secured a contract with BAE Systems Maritime Australia to manufacture a prototype part for the Hunter class frigates under the Royal Australian Navy's program.

The move follows a feasibility study and testing to confirm that AML3D's Wire Arc Manufacturing technology suits Australian marine defence applications.

The contract to create a test component and additional materials for the Hunter class frigate will take place in Adelaide, and the work is expected to be completed within 8 to 10 weeks.

Although the initial test's value is not expected to exceed $200,000, it is a significant step in commercialising WAM manufacturing solutions.
