Alma Metals (ASX:ALM) has provided an update on drilling at the Briggs Copper project in QLD, where it can earn up to a 70% interest from owner Canterbury Resources (ASX:CBY) via a staged earn-in.

Alma Metals says core drilling is testing large scale targets along strike from Briggs Central inferred resources (143Mt at 0.29% Cu), and the second hole testing the Northern Porphyry target was successfully completed at a depth of 536.5m.

The company says the hole intersected multiple mineralised porphyritic intrusions, and chalcopyrite abundance for the entire hole is visually estimated at between 0.5% and 1.0% by volume.

Alma Metals also says the interval doesn't outcrop at surface, and its discovery significantly enhances the potential of the project.
