The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission raised competition concerns about Aurizon's proposed acquisition of Flinders Logistics.

Flinders Logistics operates stevedoring and logistics at Port Adelaide and Port Pirie, handling bulk and break-bulk cargo.

Concerns focus on potential reduced competition in rail haulage services for containerised bulk minerals in South Australia, particularly at critical Berth 29 in Port Adelaide, which handles unique mining products.

The acquisition could consolidate Aurizon's control over Berth 29, potentially limiting access for rival rail haulage providers and stevedores.

The ACCC invites submissions on the concerns by July 25.
