Australian respiratory imaging technology firm 4DMedical announced a research agreement with the US Department of Veterans Affairs through its US subsidiary, Imbio.

The project will utilise Imbio's lung texture analysis technology to retrospectively assess CT scans from veterans who underwent lung cancer screening between 2014 and 2017.

The focus is determining the prevalence, diagnostic delay, and mortality associated with interstitial lung abnormalities and interstitial lung disease.

The partnership aims to improve early diagnosis and expedite access to care for veterans with pulmonary fibrosis.
