Syrah Resources notes the US International Trade Commission reached a final negative determination regarding antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into Chinese active anode material.
The ruling means aggregate duty rates of between 160% and 170% determined by the US Department of Commerce will not be imposed on imports from China.
“Whilst we are disappointed in the final negative determination from the ITC, Syrah remains committed to the ramp up of its Vidalia AAM facility which is the only domestic producer of AAM in the United States,” said Syrah Managing Director Shaun Verner.
The International Trade Commission's decision reverses a preliminary affirmative determination from January 2025 that suggested Chinese imports were retarding the establishment of a domestic industry.
Syrah warned the decision may delay active anode material sales from its Vidalia facility and limit near-term demand growth for domestic production and Balama natural graphite feedstock.
The company and other petitioners in the North American Graphite Alliance are currently considering their rights to appeal the final negative determination.
Syrah continues to progress testing approvals under offtake agreements with major partners including Tesla and Lucid Group for supply from its 11.25ktpa Vidalia facility.
At the time of reporting, Syrah Resources' share price was $0.182.
