Fremantle-based explorer Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) has kicked off its maiden drilling program at the highly anticipated Three Saints Project in northern Chile.
The strategic milestone follows extensive preparatory field activities and marks a critical pivot toward testing priority targets within the company’s copper-gold portfolio.
The project is situated near major hubs like Copiapó, positioning Lodestar in the heart of a prolific mineral belt.
The current drilling campaign is specifically designed to investigate a geophysical anomaly that has yet to be tested at depth.
Executive Director and Head of Exploration, Coraline Blaud, highlighted the importance of this phase, noting that the program provides the first real opportunity to assess the system’s vertical scale.
The geological team is primarily focused on identifying signs of mineralisation and alteration that could indicate a large-scale porphyry-style system—a discovery that would be transformative for the company.
The "Main Target" area, identified through advanced geophysical mapping, showcases a distinct heat map of potential mineral density that the drill rigs are now penetrating.
