Lode Resources (ASX:LDR) commenced a high-priority, 32-hole drilling program at its flagship Uralla Gold Project, located within the New England Fold Belt in New South Wales.
The latest exploration phase is designed to follow up on, test, and extend previously identified mineralised lodes.
The targets were established through a combination of historic drilling, surface rock chip sampling, and extensive deep soil gold anomalism.
A key focus of the campaign is an intrusive related gold system, which geologists believe is associated with a mineralised intrusive stock at depth.
The theory is supported by a circular geological feature identified through previous mapping and geophysics.
Managing Director Keith Mayes noted that the program aims to build on substantial historical results, which include intercepts such as 14m at 4.82 g/t Au and 7.m at 7.47 g/t Au.
The current 32-hole initiative follows a successful 1,159-hole auger programme that covered approximately 1.6km2, sharpening the company’s focus on specific mineralised structures.
With reverse circulation drilling already underway and the first batch of samples currently at the laboratory, Lode Resources expects to quickly evaluate the prospectivity of these targets.
