Korea University’s Blockchain Research Institute has partnered with Injective (CRYPTO:INJ) to join its global blockchain ecosystem as a validator.
The collaboration aims to strengthen links between academic research and live blockchain infrastructure.
The institute operates under Korea University’s College of Informatics and focuses on blockchain and digital asset research.
Since 2020, the institute has led joint research projects and educational programmes on blockchain use in finance and public services.
The new partnership builds on prior cooperation and reflects a shift towards applied research and international engagement.
Under the agreement, Korea University will act as a validator, supporting Injective’s network operations and security.
Validator participation will contribute to ecosystem stability and the blockchain’s global expansion strategy.
The partnership opens the door for joint research into real-world asset tokenisation and on-chain financial structures in Korea.
Research efforts will consider regulatory frameworks, local market conditions, and institutional requirements.
This partnership allows us to expand beyond theory-driven research and focus on practical studies that can be applied to real-world industry and regulatory environments.
Professor Inho Lee said.
We aim to continue advancing research on digital assets and RWA structures that are suitable for the Korean market.
He added.
The institute is currently leading a government-funded project backed by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
That project focuses on improving smart contract security and reliability across their full lifecycle.
Researchers are working to identify and reduce vulnerabilities from development through execution.
Injective views academic collaboration as key to long-term trust and sustainable ecosystem growth.
We expect this collaboration to further stimulate research and discussion around onchain finance and RWA adoption in Korea and across the broader Asia region.
Andrew Kang said.
The partnership reflects a broader trend of universities directly participating in blockchain networks.
Korea University and Injective plan to expand cooperation across research, education, and policy discussions.
Both sides see the collaboration as a foundation for deeper engagement between academia and the blockchain sector.
At the time of reporting, Injective price was $5.19.
