Hana Financial Group has signed a partnership with Standard Chartered to collaborate across global finance and digital asset markets.

The agreement spans investment banking, foreign exchange, money markets and digital assets, marking a broader push into emerging financial technologies.

“We will create new growth opportunities by generating synergies in future financial areas, including digital assets,”

Said chairman Ham Young-joo.

The move builds on Hana’s recent partnerships with Circle and Crypto.com to promote stablecoin-based payments for foreign visitors in South Korea.

Standard Chartered highlighted Asia as a key strategic region, with CEO Bill Winters describing Korea as a major financial hub for global network expansion.

The collaboration also aligns with Standard Chartered’s growing involvement in digital assets, including potential stablecoin licensing developments in Hong Kong.

Hana’s expanding partnerships signal increasing institutional adoption of digital assets and stablecoins within traditional banking systems.
