Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR) has kicked off the mobilisation for its latest exploration phase in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
Working in partnership with contractor Terrex, the company confirmed that the mobilisation is planned to commence in the next week and take approximately 3-weeks to complete.
The project is strategically designed to gather high-resolution data over a substantial area.
"The Teelba 2D Seismic campaign covers 200 km of new seismic across some of Elixir’s most prospective western Taroom Trough acreage that is on trend with the outstanding petrophysical results of the Lorelle-3 pilot well," the company said in statement.
Elixir aims to replicate or extend the success found at Lorelle-3, further defining the potential of their basin-centred gas play.
Located near the Wallumbilla Gas Hub and the town of Roma, the Taroom Trough is a critical focus for Australian energy security.
The 200-kilometre survey will provide the necessary structural detail to identify future drilling targets across Elixir's 100% owned acreage and various joint venture blocks.
