Elders (ASX:ELD) appointed René Dedoncker as its next CEO, effective Oct. 1.
Dedoncker, a seasoned executive with 20 years of experience at Fonterra Group—most recently as CEO of Mainland Group—will succeed long-time leader Mark Allison.
The transition marks the end of an era for Allison, who is credited with transforming Elders into a "pureplay agribusiness" and overseeing the resumption of dividends in 2017 after an eight-year hiatus.
Elders Chair Glenn Davis noted that Dedoncker's deep agricultural roots and proven strategic acumen, honed at global giants like Fonterra and Mars Corporation, make him the ideal choice to lead the iconic Australian company into its next growth phase.
Allison will remain at the helm until October to ensure a smooth leadership handover.
