ChipMOS revenue soars 32% year-over-year on AI-driven demand imbalance
ChipMOS Technologies (NASDAQ:IMOS) reported unaudited consolidated revenue for April 2026 that highlights the continued strength of the global semiconductor recovery, particularly within the artificial intelligence (AI) vertical.
The Hsinchu-based provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services posted revenue of NT$2,460.5 million ($77.8 million) for the month.
While the figure represents a slight sequential dip of 1.6% compared to March 2026, it marks a substantial 32.2% increase over the NT$1,861.3 million reported in April 2025.
The strong year-over-year performance underscores a significant rebound in utilization rates for the company’s high-end memory and display driver assembly lines.
Management attributed the robust year-over-year growth to sustained customer demand and enhanced visibility extending throughout 2026.
This confidence is largely driven by a persistent demand-supply imbalance for specialized AI-related components, which has forced many of ChipMOS’s primary customers to secure capacity well in advance.
