Chiliz unveiled a three-phase roadmap detailing how it plans to expand Fan Tokens ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a return to the US market.
The company said it expects to announce its first US Fan Token partnerships in the first quarter of 2026, alongside new national team tokens timed for the World Cup.
Chiliz said the roadmap marks a shift from experimentation to execution, positioning 2026 as a pivotal year for scaling fan-focused blockchain products.
A key pillar of the plan is an omnichain upgrade that will allow Fan Tokens to move across blockchains, improving liquidity and enabling use in decentralised finance applications.
In the second quarter of 2026, Chiliz plans to introduce new tokenomics linking demand for its CHZ token to Fan Token activity through ongoing buybacks funded by ecosystem revenues.
Later phases include performance-based mechanics where match results affect token supply, with wins triggering burns and losses leading to issuance.
Beyond 2026, Chiliz plans to expand into tokenised real-world sports assets, aiming to turn Fan Tokens into a globally traded sports finance product rather than pure engagement tools.
