BPH Global (ASX:BP8) announced a landmark strategic move, with its subsidiary PT BPH Global Indonesia executing a binding memorandum of understanding with Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional, Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency.
The partnership, established under the national "BRIN Goes to Industries" initiative, aims to accelerate the downstreaming of research into tangible industrial capabilities.
BPH Global was selected as part of an exclusive cohort of industry leaders, including Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia, to spearhead this collaborative framework.
The primary focus of this alliance centers on Fucoidan, a bioactive compound derived from brown seaweed, highly valued in the global anti-ageing and personal-care markets.
BRIN currently holds registered intellectual property for Fucoidan extraction technology, which may now be directly licensed to BPH Global for commercial development.
The MoU serves as a three-year general framework, with specific project-level agreements expected to be finalised within the next six months.
The collaboration underscores BPH Global’s commitment to its seaweed strategy while aligning with Indonesia’s national objectives for economic "hilirisasi".
At the time of reporting, BPH Global's share price was $0.0020.
