Amphenol Corp. (NYSE:APH) completed its acquisition of CommScope’s Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) business on Monday, a transformational $10.5 billion deal that cements its position as a dominant provider of the hardware underpinning the artificial intelligence revolution.
The Wallingford, Connecticut-based interconnect giant expects the newly acquired unit to generate approximately $4.1 billion in sales for the full year 2026.
The transaction is projected to add roughly $0.15 to Amphenol’s 2026 diluted earnings per share, excluding acquisition-related costs.
The move follows a string of smaller deals by Amphenol to roll up CommScope’s wireless and broadband assets, but the CCS acquisition is the largest to date.
It brings roughly 20,000 employees and a massive portfolio of fiber optic technology into Amphenol’s Communications Solutions segment—a division that has seen explosive growth as hyperscale data centers upgrade their infrastructure to handle AI workloads.
For CommScope, the divestiture marks a radical pivot.
The company, which will be renamed Vistance™ Networks effective January 14, is using the $10 billion in net proceeds to wipe its balance sheet clean of debt and redeem preferred equity held by private equity firm Carlyle.
In a windfall for its investors, the company plans to distribute "significant excess cash" as a dividend of at least $10 per share within the next 90 days.
