Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ) announced a strategic restructuring of its executive team, effective March 30, following the retirement of COO Alex Marren.
Kate Boyer—the airline’s current General Manager of Airports and recent Deloitte Young Executive award winner—will step into the role of COO, Ground and Inflight.
Boyer, who joined the carrier in 2022, is credited with leading a major performance turnaround within the domestic network.
Simultaneously, the airline is split-tasking its operational oversight by moving Mike Williams into the newly created position of COO, Technical Operations.
Williams will transition from his current role as Chief Transformation and Alliances Officer to oversee engineering, maintenance, and supply chain functions while maintaining his leadership of the airline's Alliances portfolio.
CEO Nikhil Ravishankar praised both leaders, noting that the appointments are designed to strengthen the airline’s "operational and strategic priorities" as it enters its next phase of growth.
At the time of reporting, Air New Zealand's share price was $0.50.
