The crypto-aligned Fellowship PAC has halted a planned $1.75 million advertising campaign supporting Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a US Senate race, according to reports.
The political action committee had disclosed the spending to the Federal Election Commission but reportedly never placed the ads, despite filings remaining publicly visible.
The decision followed scrutiny from Republican leaders directed at Howard Lutnick over his connections to Fellowship and its backing from Cantor Fitzgerald.
Fellowship, which launched claiming more than $100 million in crypto-aligned funding, had been positioning itself as a major player in US elections supporting pro-crypto candidates.
The move to withdraw support is unusual, as crypto-backed PACs such as Fairshake typically deploy significant capital across both political parties to influence policy outcomes.
Paxton is set to face Senator John Cornyn in a May 26 Republican runoff, with the winner likely competing against Democrat James Talarico in the general election.
The development comes as more than 120 crypto and blockchain groups push the Senate to advance the CLARITY Act, highlighting the growing political influence of the digital asset sector.
