Stacks company info

What does Stacks do?
Stacks (CRYPTO:STX) is a layer-1 blockchain that extends the Bitcoin network. It enables smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps) to be built on Bitcoin, without sacrificing Bitcoin's security or decentralization. It uses a unique consensus mechanism called Proof-of-Transfer (PoX). PoX allows Stacks to secure the network using Bitcoin's mining power, without requiring Stacks miners to spend additional energy. Stacks is home to a growing ecosystem of DApps, including DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and gaming platforms. The STX token is the native cryptocurrency of the Stacks network. It is used to pay transaction fees, secure the network, and participate in governance.
