Trade Balance - BOP Basis
The Trade Balance, released by Japan's Customs Office, is a measure of the country's import-export balance. A positive value indicates a trade surplus, whilst a negative signifies a trade deficit. Given Japan's reliance on exports, a consistent demand for Japanese products could lead to an increase in the Trade Balance, subsequently benefitting the JPY.
