NIO (NYSE:NIO) cemented its turnaround year on Thursday, reporting record-breaking delivery results for December, the fourth quarter, and the full year 2025.
The Shanghai-based electric vehicle maker delivered 48,135 vehicles in December, a 54.6% increase year-over-year, marking its highest monthly volume to date.
The surge was fueled by the successful execution of NIO’s three-brand strategy.
While the core premium NIO brand delivered 31,897 units in December, the company's newer entrants saw significant momentum: the family-oriented ONVO brand delivered 9,154 vehicles, and the small high-end FIREFLY brand contributed 7,084 units.
This diversified portfolio propelled fourth-quarter deliveries to a record 124,807 vehicles, up 71.7% from the previous year.
For the full year 2025, NIO delivered a total of 326,028 vehicles, representing a 46.9% increase over 2024.
This performance brings NIO’s cumulative deliveries to 997,592 as of December 31, 2025, placing the company just days away from joining the exclusive "one million club" of premium electric vehicle manufacturers.
A standout performer in the 2025 lineup was the All-New ES8.
The flagship SUV surpassed 40,000 cumulative deliveries in December, setting a record as the fastest-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) priced above RMB 400,000 in the Chinese market.
Management attributed the ES8's success to its "Cedar" smart system architecture and NIO’s expanding network of battery swap stations, which reached a new level of density in late 2025.
Looking ahead to 2026, investors are focused on NIO's path to profitability.
During its Q3 earnings call, the company projected that its vehicle margin would rise toward 18% as the higher-margin ES8 and the mass-market ONVO L60 reach full production scale.
