KBR (NYSE:KBR) announced today that it has been awarded a Technical Support Services Contract by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) with a ceiling value of $350 million.
The five-year, single-award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract will provide comprehensive technical support to the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The contract encompasses a wide range of services, including the development of cloud-native architectures, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, advanced software and systems engineering, secure IT infrastructure, intelligent data analytics, algorithm development, and the long-term preservation of Earth-observation records.
A key focus of the work will be supporting USGS preparations for Landsat Next, an upcoming three-satellite constellation scheduled for launch in 2030/2031.
This next-generation system aims to enhance land imaging capabilities with improved resolution and frequency.
Work will primarily be performed at the EROS Center in Sioux Falls, with additional efforts at other locations across the United States.
This award marks KBR's fifth consecutive contract with USGS, extending a partnership that has spanned more than 24 years.
The company has consistently supported the agency's mission in managing and distributing vast archives of satellite imagery and geospatial data critical for environmental monitoring, natural resource management, and disaster response.
