CGI (NYSE:GIB) has finalized the acquisition of Comarch Polska SA, a move that significantly expands the Canadian IT firm’s footprint in one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital economies.
The transaction, completed through CGI’s Polish subsidiary on January 5, 2026, integrates more than 460 IT and consulting professionals into CGI’s regional operations.
The acquisition brings CGI’s total workforce in Poland and the Baltic States to approximately 1,500 professionals.
By absorbing Comarch Polska—a subsidiary of the Kraków-based Comarch SA—CGI gains a formidable foothold in the Polish public administration sector, a market Comarch has served since its founding as a university spin-off in 1993.
The deal is structured to blend Comarch’s localized intellectual property with CGI’s global delivery model.
Comarch’s core offerings, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), digital document management, and managed services, will be integrated into CGI’s technology-agnostic portfolio.
The company plans to expand its physical presence into several additional major Polish cities to better serve municipal and national government agencies.
CGI, which reported fiscal 2025 revenue of CA$15.91 billion, is known for its "Build and Buy" growth strategy.
A hallmark of this strategy is the company's rigorous operational target: delivering 95% of its projects on time and within budget.
This performance benchmark is expected to be a key differentiator as CGI bids for larger digital transformation contracts within the Polish social security, healthcare, and agricultural sectors.
