The White House confirmed US officials are actively discussing a potential offer to buy Greenland, while not ruling out military options.
Denmark warned that any attempt to annex Greenland would threaten Nato unity, as both Copenhagen and Greenland insist the island is not for sale.
Greenland’s strategic Arctic location makes it vital for early missile warning systems and monitoring regional naval activity.
The US already maintains more than 100 military personnel at the Pituffik base under long-standing agreements with Denmark.
European leaders issued a joint statement backing Denmark and stressing that Arctic security must be handled collectively by Nato allies.
It’s completely disrespectful from the US side to not rule out annexing our country.
