Solana Mobile said it will airdrop its new SKR ecosystem token to Seeker smartphone users and app developers on January 20.
The initial airdrop will distribute 20% of the total supply, equal to 2 billion SKR tokens.
Users of the earlier Solana Saga smartphone will not be eligible for the SKR airdrop.
Solana Mobile said 30% of the total 10 billion SKR supply has been allocated to airdrop incentives.
SKR will give all of the people who have gotten us to this point the opportunity to influence the success of this platform.
Emmett Hollyer said.
The airdrop follows a snapshot of Seeker device activity taken ahead of the token launch.
Solana Mobile said Seeker Season 1 recorded more than 9 million transactions and $2.6bn in volume.
An additional 2.7 billion SKR tokens will unlock at the token generation event for liquidity, the community treasury and partnerships.
Solana Mobile said a further 1.8 billion SKR tokens will unlock gradually to support long-term growth.
The Seeker device launched after strong demand for the original Solana Saga phone but Saga software support ended in October.
At the time of reporting, Solana price was $137.14.
