Former CFTC commissioner Brian Quintenz has joined the board of investment firm SUI Group.
SUI Group said the appointment would bolster its regulatory and policy expertise.
Quintenz was previously President Donald Trump’s first nominee to chair the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
His nomination was later withdrawn before confirmation by the US Senate.
SUI Group said Quintenz will support its digital asset treasury strategy.
The company disclosed holdings of more than 107 million Sui tokens valued at roughly $200m.
Quintenz served as a CFTC commissioner from 2017 to 2021 under the Trump administration.
He later became global head of policy at a16z crypto.
Quintenz has also held advisory roles at Kalshi and Crypto.com.
His move reflects a broader trend of former US regulators joining crypto-related firms.
The CFTC currently has only one Senate-confirmed commissioner in place.
Leadership gaps at the regulator could persist for an extended period.
At the time of reporting, Sui price was $1.86.
