Lunnon Metals (ASX:LM8) has reported strong results from reverse circulation drilling at its Paringa West prospect, part of the company's Foster-Baker Project in the St Ives/Kambalda region.
The recent drilling confirmed the prospectivity of the tenements, with intercepts including 8m at 5.52 g/t gold from 65m and 6m at 1.49 g/t gold from 54m.
These results support a revised geological interpretation suggesting a gently northwest-dipping mineralised structure, contrasting the previously assumed north-south trend.
Three RC holes were drilled 80m apart to test this model, with two returning significant gold mineralisation at the target depth.
The interpreted host rock is Upper Paringa Basalt, the same unit that hosts the nearby 1Moz+ Hamlet-Athena complex, highlighting the potential for additional discoveries.
Managing Director Edmund Ainscough said, "Our tenements lie in the heart of the +16Moz St Ives gold camp. While the area has historically seen limited gold exploration due to early nickel focus, our results at Lady Herial and now Paringa West demonstrate significant untapped potential in this highly prospective region."
The company will continue to evaluate the Paringa West target while advancing high-priority programs at Lady Herial and the adjacent Northwest prospect.
Lunnon Metals aims to define a replacement for, or extension of, Lady Herial while exploring its 23km2 tenement package for major gold discoveries within this prolific gold camp.
At the time of reporting, Lunnon Metals' share price was $0.42.
