Duratec (ASX:DUR) announced that its 50:50 joint venture with Ertech, the Duratec Ertech joint venture, has been instructed to proceed with early procurement of approximately $5 million in long-lead items for the planning phase of infrastructure upgrades at HMAS Stirling.
The works form part of an early contractor involvement head contract to support Australia’s future submarine capability, with full contract award and project commencement expected in Q3 FY26.
Further early on-site works may be undertaken as design approval nears completion, with a second contract for delivery of nuclear-compliant, fit-for-purpose facilities now anticipated in Q4 FY26.
These upgrades aim to accommodate rotational forces from the United States and United Kingdom under the AUKUS partnership, scheduled to arrive in late 2027.
Duratec Managing Director Chris Oates said the early procurement milestone underscores the company's critical role in defence infrastructure, highlighting its commitment to timely and compliant delivery of strategically important facilities.
